Victory declared—thanks for more than 1 million votes!

Most candidates take up to two years to campaign for a primary election to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. THANKS TO YOU we did it in two months.

No one we could find had ever garnered the number of write-in votes to win in a Cook County-wide race. Thanks to you we broke the state of Illinois’ previous primary write-in record set in 1944.

We were then taken to court to keep us from taking the seat this November. Yet thanks to you, alongside the Cook County Clerk’s Office and Cook County Democratic Party Chair Toni Preckwinkle, we successfully defended your right to vote and elect who represents you.

Thanks to you, we did all this without taking a single penny from companies that contract with MWRD. All the CAMpaign’s financial support came from individuals and elected officials that support our goals.

And on November 6, something else happened: Despite all the barriers thrown at us this year, 1.1 million cast your vote for me, deciding that a strong record of public service matters.

All of this happened…thanks to you.
